Paper vellum is a contemporary replacement of traditional vellum. Traditional vellum was originally made from animal skins. Vellum papers are made of plastericized cotton. Vellum paper is usually see-through (translucent) and dimensionally stable able maintain size with change of temperature and humidity. Dimensionally stable media is critical for large drawings such as engineering plans and architectural plans where exact dimensions and scales are needed. Vellum papers translucent proprieties are ideal for architects, engineers etc. for tracing, overlays, and the reproduction of architectural drawings and engineering drawings into blueprints. With the use of CAD vellum papers uses have changed, but are still widely used. Vellum paper is still widely used by architects and engineers to sketch their ideas and concepts before going to the computer; colleges, high schools, and middle schools use vellum to teach manual drafting and sketching; small businesses and home owners creating floor plans for remodeling a kitchen, bathrooms etc. Some popular sketches and plans you will see drawn on vellum paper include floor plans (home, kitchen, bath, rooms, office etc.); garden design with layout of plants and landscaping, as well as landscape design, site plans and more. Vellum paper holds up well to erasing and is available rolls, sheets and pads.
Vellum paper is available for manual drawing and drafting, inkjet printers and plotters, and laser printers and xerographic plotters. The inkjet vellum and laser vellum are specifically coated for use with inkjet and laser printers and plotters. Do not use drafting vellum in laser or inkjet plotters. We carry a complete line of inkjet vellum and laser vellum. Manual drawing or drafting vellum is available in rolls, sheets, or pads of 50 sheets with or without a grids. The vellum grid paper is available in large sheets or rolls. The vellum grid paper is available with a grid of 10 X 10 grids to the inch 1/10”; grid of 8 x 8 grids to the inch 1/8”; grid of 4 x 4 grids to inch ¼”; 2mm grid paper; and isometric grid paper. The vellum grid paper is printed in a non repro blue ink that when copied or put through a blueprint machine does not reproduce.. The vellum grid paper is excellent for sketching initial plans or as final plans. The grids help with the scaling of drawings and plans. Our vellum paper is available with drafting title block. The drafting title block is available in architects or engineering format with the title block in lower right or down the right hand side of the paper. The vellum paper with title block is available also on grid paper. We also offer custom printed title block.
